Biography

Director of Studiodanz, Rock is a renowned dance instructor and choreographer in Hong Kong. He has worked as a dancer in many concerts of various well-known artists including Leon Lai, Twins and Coco Lee since 2000.

With over 20 years of dance experience, in recent years, Rock has choreographed for many local and international artists including Leo Ku, Vivian Chow, Justin Lo, Twins, Charlene Choi (Twins), Hana Kuk, Sherman Chung, Jonathan Wong, C-All-Star, Vincy Chan, Show Keung To, Anson Lo, Mirror, and the Pan-Asia Group – Blush. He is also invited as a choreographer and dance instructor for working on the programmes theme songs of “Cooking Beauties” by TVB and “Good Night Show” by ViuTV.

Rock has worked for numerous MVs and TV commercials including Promise (Hong Kong), Xiaomi, Canon, General Air Conditioner and Broadway (Lifestyle). Rock’s reputation in the dance also attracted the brand Nike as his sponsor to promote its brand, and invited him to be the Choreographer of Kobe Bryant Asia Tour 2009 (Hong Kong).

Apart from dance, he is active in musicals and drama productions. He was invited to be the main character and choreographer of “Pole” and “Pole 2.0” in 2015 and 2016, working alongside with the cast, including Grace Wong Kwan-Hing, Vangie Tang, Kate Yeung and Lorretta Chow Mei-yan.

Graduating from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (major in Physical Education and Sports Science), Rock has become a popular professional dance teacher. He has taught numerous training courses and worked as a choreographer for different local universities and large-scale performances. He won the Best Choreographer Award for two consecutive years in Intra Varsity Dance Competition (IVDC) in 2007 and 2008 and is continuously been invited to judge in the dance competitions during 2009 to 2015.

In additions, Rock has gained international recognition for his distinct dance achievements and was invited to teach dance workshops in Norway and Singapore.

Currently, Rock is a member of the dance crew, SD CREW. He has received extensive trainings in the US and Japan, and gained numerous performance opportunities in different countries, including Dance Delight Taiwan 2009, The Big Groove 2009 in Singapore and Show What 2009 in Macau.

His recent choreographic works include: “Pawn” for Hong Kong Arts Festival in 2011, “The Voice” for Hong Kong Arts Festival in 2012, Artists-in-Residence Project 2012-13 and Arts Ambassadors-in-School Scheme 2010-11 and 2011-12.
